TRAINING
Operosa
with Martin Lloyd Evans and Elizabeth Rowe
16 - 20 April 2018
Operosa
Excellence in recitative needs much work on detail and understanding of moving the story forward.
The conversational quality yet the wealth of interpretation options are learned by good coaching, repetition and attention to structure.
With guest music director, British opera stage director, Martin Lloyd-Evans and coach Elizabeth Rowe, work with singers will be concentrated on the importance of “knowing and understanding the content of the lines” and “how to bring them to life”. The recitatives lead into ensembles; all of which will be semi-staged for performance.
The workshop which will be mainly focused on Mozart’s opera on Da Ponte’s libretti. It will last for 5 days and it will involve 10 to 12 singers, 2 pianists and 2 stage directors.
This workshop is part of a three workshops cycle on Mozart.
